There are many sports we can play in Canada, for instance, basketball, volleyball, tennis, swim and hockey. We can choose any of them to play if we have spare time because the community provides those sports in every season. I enjoy golfing in the summer, skiing in the winter, and swimming throughout the whole year.

I used to go skiing when I lived in Japan in 1983. But I went back to Hong Kong in 1994, so I have been out of practice on skiing for 15 years. When I immigrated to Canada, I had no idea if I could ski again since my age is over 50. One of my classmates, Mr. Khang, a powerful young man, told me that he can ski down from the top of the high hill. He is 20 years older than I am. Oh my, he is really as sharp as a tack! During the winter, I went skiing again.

For swimming, if it were not for Edward, my other classmate, who had encouraged me and gave me a swimming crash course two years ago, I would not have known how to swim. Let alone swim for 40 minutes without stopping. It is really beyond my comprehension. I have to hand it to him.

I went golfing so frequently when I was in Hong Kong, but it cost an arm and a leg. In Canada, golf is a good sport during the summer, and the cost is fair and square. For example, Mr. Khang told me that he pays 1400 dollars for the membership fee, it looks expensive. But in total he can play over 200 times throughout the season; it means that, he just pays few dollars for a game. For me, I like to go golfing with my friends, especially those friends who can drink with me afterwards. Because the best golf course for me is, golfing, talking, eating and drinking, hahahhhhha!

I have not gone golfing or skiing in a long time, and I am so happy to do it again. I am very lucky to have learned how to swim; I did not believe that I would ever be able to swim. My friends, all these experiences tell me that nothing is impossible, there are only difficulties. It also dawned on me that I need to get the show on the road for my English studying. Thank you for listening. The end!
